A Day at the Races

There are days I find myself rooting for the AI in the upcoming Robot Wars. This morning is one such day. My umbrage to mankind's very existence comes from The Messed Coast California ( The Tequila hangover does not help)

They had a much hyped "event" last night (and the hype was the best part of it). In all it's glory our Messed Coast has given the World "Sperm Racing".
I read the hype, went to the betting markets, watched the video and after I got done I threw my phone across the room. It was so bad it gave me a physical and emotional reaction. Time wasted that I will never get back. I will give you a short run down so you don't have to waste yours.

So basically what you have is some college geeks built a little microscopic racetrack took the sperm from two "contestants" and turned them loose under a microscopic camera projected on a screen for everyone to watch. Sounds like something for a geeky frat party on the weekend or a bit on the Big Bang Theory.

No big deal we did weirder things when I was in College.

Unfortunately some other college kids decided to hype this up as an "event" I am sure trying to market something. I have no idea what and could care less. I am voting for birth control in the drinking water for all humanity

So they get two "contestants" that look like they have experience in sperm racing, a Chinese MC that talks ghetto like she just came off the set of The Hangover and at the end of the race shouts CCP! CCP!. Really? Where is Tom Homan when you need him.
They set up the lighting and stage like they were promoting a MMA fight but like what some college geeks think a MMA fight promotion should be set up like without ever seeing one.

There is blaring Rap music the whole time. At one point they have some B level rap singer up on stage.

There is a bunch of nonsense yapping on stage between the "contestants" with of course some obligatory mic failures you would expect for such a poorly thought out and planed operation.

Then we have the main event of the race that only last a couple of minutes. Meh this could have been a 5 min YouTube video on a collage blog somewhere.

Bunch of nonsense afterwards, blah blah blah. The End.
I am not going to name the people or colleges involved, I am not going to link the websites, I am not going to put up the 6 hour video for this train wreck. It is that bad I don't want the parties involved to get any more ink than they already have.

So that's it. A good hour or so of my time I could have put to better use like sorting my sock drawer.
