The Ugly American
The reason I bring this up is a particularly obnoxious "American" that goes by the moniker "Johnny Somali" has shown up in my News Feed. Never heard of him before yesterday, hope to never hear about him again.
This little dirtbag is involved in Nuisance Streaming (acting like a complete ass to get views while live streaming). It is childish, teenage, edge-lord crap (sound like anyone we know?)
Here is a quick rundown of some of his exploits over the past year:In Japan he was going around insulting and taunting Japanese while live streaming with stuff like this:
“You know Hiroshima, Nagasaki? Why did you do Pearl Harbor? You know what we do to you. We destroy, because you don’t know how to behave. We will do it again, you understand?”
This eventually got him arrested and kicked out of the country and he is not welcomed back there.
In Israel he was harassing and taunting female Israeli police and military while streaming. Again this got him arrested and kicked out of the country. He is lucky he was allowed to leave with his manhood intact. Israeli men are very protective of their women (as they should be).
Then this dumbass took his show to Korea and the reason for this post as this nobody made it onto my news feed. In Korea he continued his shtick of being obnoxious and harassing people in public. Well the Koreans are having none of it and are throwing the book at him. As of this morning he is looking at 7 charges and a max of 36 years in jail. He has pleaded guilty to the small stuff ( harassing people, obstructing businesses) but he has some sex related charges that are serious lock-up time if convicted. He has some deepfake charges brought by a couple of Korean streamers and a couple of Minor Crimes charges (that is minor as in children). This fucking guy! What do you do with a mook like this? Perhaps some time in a Korean cage will sort him out.
So what is the moral to this story? When traveling abroad don't act like an ass. You are a guest in another man's country. While there you are taking advantage of their hospitality. You do not have a right to be there and no the locals are not there to kiss your ass or put up with your shit just because you are an American. So be nice and respectful when traveling. Most people are civil if not outright friendly regardless of where you go but that can change very quickly when you as an outsider are perceived as insulting or hostile.
